Ty Coch, Nefyn

I’ve always been attracted to Nefyn for the iconic view from the behind Ty Coch, the best located public house in the Wales and probably the UK. A traditional tavern with real ale sits on a sandy beach surrounded by the most wonderful coastline and golf course.
The sea was always an important part of the economy of Nefyn. Fishing for herring became the prime trade for most of the 18th and 19th centuries, so much so that the town's coat of arms bears three herrings and were locally referred to as "Nefyn beef". Today, there is only a handful of working boats that leave this sandy beach.
