I spent three days camping on Anglesey in late winter, windy days, dark skies, and early nights that came in quickly off the sea.
A lot of time was spent around Moelfre, a small coastal village on the eastern shore known for its strong maritime history and working lifeboat station. The pebbled beach and slipway sit exposed to the weather, shaped by tides and wind, with the sea constantly shifting in colour and mood. There’s a quiet resilience to the place, stories of rescues at sea and the legacy of the Royal Charter shipwreck still linger in the atmosphere. Between walks, I watched the changing light over the shingle shore, explored rock pools, and followed the coastline where small boats are launched and sea glass washes up after storms.
