Some of the best places in Pembrokeshire are down narrow lanes that lead to the hidden gems of the county, and it was one sunny day that I stumbled across this little village whilst out cycling one of my favourite routes overlooking the St George’s Channel to Ireland.
Tretio Cottages are set in the charming hamlet of Tretio in a beautiful location on the St David’s Peninsula with views across the rolling countryside and with incredibly rugged and wild coast line. The coast between Penclegyr, near Abereiddy, and St David’s Head is incredibly stunning with rich fauna and flora. From the higher ground at Tretio there are excellent views of the Ordovician high ground, including Strumble Head and Penberry.
I need to take the route down the unknow road as you never know what you may stumble across. There may only be a handful of cottages here with stone walls and dry-stone paths, but they mean so much more to the area.
