Ynys Llanddwyn beach (also known as Newborough Beach) is a stunning 3.5-mile stretch of sand on Anglesey, North Wales, famed for its breathtaking views of Snowdonia, its sweeping dunes, and the nearby tidal island of Ynys Llanddwyn. The island itself is steeped in history, serving as the home of Saint Dwynwen, and features the historic Tŵr Mawr Lighthouse, along with cottages and the ruins of a 16th-century church.
The whole place felt like a film set, I could hardly believe it was all natural. So beautiful and remote, with a quiet, almost otherworldly atmosphere. It truly is a romantic spot, shaped by both landscape and legend, and forever connected to Santes Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers. I will deffenitly be going back here if I’m ever back up North Wales.
